ROLE-PLAY FOR THE IMPENDING FALL
2020
“Role play for the impending Fall” addresses the horror of confronting all that is lost: It battles nostalgia in an attempt to create taxonomies for a paradise in decay.
How to identify victim and perpetrator when standing next to the corpse?
The crime scene: Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma and the Woodcutter sip their tea next to the wolf’s skinned body. Grandma is admiring her new fur coat. Granddaughter winks at her saviour while he wipes some blood off his shoes. They lived happily ever after.
This work consists of an installation of screen-printed fabrics and a book of drawings arranged in chronological order. It was exhibited at Goldsmiths MFA Fine Art studios in London, UK as well as at A.Antonopoulou Art gallery in Athens, Greece.
